THE BODIES - July 15, 2022

I am making the mermaid bodies out of a fine muslin and in two sizes since some of the sculpted heads are slightly larger than others. I find stuffing a cloth body evenly and firmly to be a real challenge and very hard on the hands. The smaller of the two still awaits its fingers and thumbs (which, as you can see are, pinned to the body). Then, the next step in this process is to prime the bodies for painting with a coat of gesso.
